WHIST — White-dwarf HR-diagram Interactive Simulation Tool
An in-browser white-dwarf population simulator. Everything runs
client-side via Pyodide;
there is no backend.
This tool is an interactive wrapper around (among other parameters) published
white-dwarf cooling tracks, and atmosphere models. All the science regarding the cooling of white dwarfs
belongs to the authors below. The bundled model grids are
redistributed for convenience and remain subject to their original
authors' terms — please cite the corresponding papers if you use this work.
White Dwarf Models
- WD_models — HR-diagram ↔ parameter interpolation

Default model tuple: Bédard et al. (2020) cooling tracks with the
Montreal/Bergeron synthetic atmospheres, plus the ONe ultramassive tracks.
- Camisassa CO cooling tracks — La Plata LPCODE
sequences (Z = 0.02; DA & DB): Althaus et al. (2013); Camisassa
et al. (2016, 2017, 2019). Atmospheres: Koester (2010).
- "Stealth DQ" carbon-enrichment grids — Camisassa
